My Dad builds boats.

Dad has always had a love affair with the water, and sailing and boats. Over the years he has owned several sail boats. 

He also builds boats... Models.

He has the unique ability to see a picture or photo of a boat, scale it and then build a model. 

These are a few of the models he has built. This is great stuff, even if he weren't my Dad.

They are for sale. 

Models are constructed of basswood and balsa. They are for display not working models.

BUY BOATS, USUALLY OVER 50' IN LENGTH WOULD FOLLOW THE BAY'S FISHING FLEET OF SKIPJACKS
AND OTHER FISHING BOATS, PURCHASING THEIR CATCH WHICH THEY WOULD TAKE TO MARKET, ALLOWING
THE WORKING BOATS TO CONTINUE WORKING LONGER.
A FEW STILL SERVE THE FISHERMEN, OTHERS PROVIDE ON WATER TEACHING AND TOURS. MANY BOATS HAVE
BEEN CONVERTED TO PRIVATE YACHTS. A GREAT MANY HAVE DISAPPEARED TO WHERE OLD BOATS GO.

IN 1895,  CAPT. JOSHUA SLOCUM WAS OFFERED AN '' OLD SHIP WANTING REPAIRS', BY A SEA CAPTAIN FRIEND. SHE WAS AN OLD FISHING SLOOP NAMED SPRAY, PROPPED UP IN A FIELD NEAR FAIRHAVEN MASS. REBUILT FROM THE KEEL UP THE 37' SPRAY SET SAIL FROM BOSTON APRIL 24, 1985. CAPT. SLOCUM SAILING ALONE AROUND THE WORLD, RETURNING TO HER HOME WATERS JUNE 27,1898. CAPT SLOCUM WAS THE FIRST MAN TO SAIL SINGLE-HANDED AROUND THE WORLD.

IS THE ROSIE PARKS. ORIGINALLY BUILT BY THE LEGENDARY BUILDER BRONZA PARKS FOR HIS BROTHER
CAPT. ORVILLE PARKS IN 1955.
THE ROSIE PARKS IS CURRENTLY UNDER GOING A RE-BUILD AT THE CHESAPEAKE BAY MARITIME MUSEUM
